An escape room is a fun, interactive experience that involves solving puzzles within a sixty minute time limit. People participate in escape rooms as couples or in groups. It is an adventure, where one becomes immersed in the room’s story. Stories vary, but there is always an end goal that the participants are working toward. It is collaborative, in that individuals participating in the escape room experience, will share clues found, and sometimes engage in teamwork in order to solve puzzles. Some puzzles involve figuring out riddles. Other puzzles involve repeating patterns. Some puzzles require easy physical tasks. Other puzzles involve using logic. The goal is to find the clues in the room and use them to get to the end, before your sixty-minute time limit runs out! An escape room may be just a diversion, or form of entertainment. However, a well-designed escape room experience can also reveal strengths,weaknesses, and how well a group collaborates.
